Bad News

David called us tonight with bad news.  The courts are closing on Dec. 24th so our Dec 30 or  31 court date is not going to be.  Our options are - make 3 trips to Ukraine or take a chance and change our SDA appointment to January.  We do not feel comfortable in changing our SDA appointment day - which is the 16th of this month.   We are being told to come this month for our appointment, then go home on the 25 or 26, then come back in January ( both of us again) for our court date ( which is now not known) go home again, then have Mick come back a third time to get Vika.  Your prayers are appreciated.

  1. Hey guys, this is a bummer, but God has a hand in this and maybe it will be better in the end if you are serious about adopting more than one child! It will be a hassle to make so many trips, but I think you should keep your first trip so you can see Vika as she is very excited you are coming. She will understand, she is a smart girl:) You will be in our prayers. Once you see that ear to ear smile of hers, you will realize that this is just a bump in the road but the end result will be the way it's supposed to be.

  2. Mick and Janel we are praying that everything will work out..remember that we can't see what God sees and he has it figured out already, it just takes us longer some times to see. Please know that you guys are doing what you need to do and have faith and confidence in that and that God will see you through this bump in the road like he has already done with other things !!!

  3. Hey Mick and Janel--sorry we didn't make contact last night--when you skyped, Cindy was sleeping and I didn't want to answer the "phone call" in this small apartment. We would love to talk before you start your trip! Today, we will be exploring, and hopefully going out for some Ukrainian chow, but if we are here, the computer will be on. Sorry to hear about the glitch in your plans, but He is in control! Looking forward to hanging out when you arrive in Krivvy Rog!
